Coincident with the 2014 Nuclear Security Summit in Amsterdam, the World Institute for Nuclear Security has launched its newest initiative: the WINS Academy.
The WINS Academy is the first online professional certification programme in the world for nuclear security management. Its educational design consists of a Foundation Module plus eight elective Modules. All participants take the Foundation Module and choose a minimum of one elective; the choice of the elective will most likely depend on the participant’s area of responsibility. To date, we have released the Foundation Module as well as the Elective Module for Scientists, Technicians and Engineers, and the Elective Module for Board Directors and Seniors Administrators will be released in a few weeks.

Because our goal is to promote certified professional development and the implementation of best practices worldwide, we price our certification programmes so they are affordable to as many participants as possible and have established a tuition reimbursement incentive that remains valid until April 2015. Besides, we have developed a scholarship programme which allows selected participants to gain access to WINS Academy courses and exams at no cost.
Through this programme, bursaries are made available to participants from certain countries who have specific responsibilities for nuclear security related to the certification programme.
