WINS at the 2016 Nuclear Security and related Summits

The 2016 Nuclear Security and related Summits, which took place in Washington D.C. last week, have been very successful for WINS.

2016 Nuclear Security Summit

52 States and 4 International Organisations attended the 2016 NSS. In a Joint Statement signed by twelve countries, Canada, Finland, Hungary, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Thailand, the United Kingdom, and the United States commitments were made to undertake to further support the WINS Academy in its efforts to expand its international certification program, including through the provision of advocacy, peer review support, contributions, or by other means as necessary. This Gift Basket, jointly led by Canada and the United Kingdom, is a significant achievement for WINS and recognises our efforts in promoting certified professional development for nuclear security.

Furthermore, WINS was recognised in the National Statements of Canada, Nigeria and Norway, as well as in the National Progress Reports of Australia, Canada, France, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Nigeria and Norway.
