Results of the February 2016 WINS Membership Quiz: The Changing Nature of Threat

Over 100 WINS Members took part in the February WINS Membership Quiz, which closed on April 12, 2016. This quiz comprised of 5 knowledge-based questions and 5 opinion-based questions, inviting them to reflect on the changing nature of the nuclear security threat.

Results show that over 81% of the respondents believe that operational staff such as scientists, technicians and engineers are the first line of defence in protecting their facility against security threats. Moreover, more than 89% believe that insiders and radicalised individuals are credible security threats and should be a real concern to the nuclear industry. In addition, 96.2% of the respondents believe that certified training and professional development activities are relevant for improving the nuclear security competence of all personnel in an organisation. Finally, 92.5% say WINS is an appropriate forum to offer certification for professionals with nuclear security accountabilities.
