New National Skills Academy Course Highlights Nuclear Security

The Triple Bar Nuclear Security has been developed by the National Skills Academy Nuclear (NSAN), in collaboration with the International Atomic Energy Authority (IAEA) and eOrigen, to provide people working in or joining the nuclear industry with a fundamental knowledge of nuclear security.

The course has been created to raise awareness and knowledge about the core concepts of nuclear security including threats, the legal framework, the role of the

IAEA, methods of prevention, detection and response alongside other key nuclear security elements and culture. The course is recognised by the IAEA and will be used as pre course learning material for their classroom based training.

The course is part of the Triple Bar suite developed by NSAN to provide an introduction to nuclear for working on existing sites, new build and nuclear manufacturing. Following the same approach the course explores in depth three key areas; Basic Nuclear Security Fundamentals, Basic Nuclear Security Essentials and Basic Nuclear Security Culture & Sustainability.
