WINS Meets Partners on Thailand Sustainable Nuclear Security Training Development Project

WINS, Global Affairs Canada and Thailand’s Office of Atoms for Peace met in Bangkok to discuss the outcomes of our joint collaboration project for the Development of Sustainable Nuclear Security Training in Thailand.

We heard from OAP Deputy Secretary General Suchin Udomsomporn and her colleagues about Thailand’s Integrated Nuclear Security Support Plan. Julia Gibson, Project Leader of Global Affairs Canada’s Weapons Threat Reduction Program, also shared information on Canada’s Weapons Threat Reduction Program support to partner countries. The WINS team presented an overview of our current activities and our collaboration project with OAP.

“Promoting locally sustainable radioactive source security competence is crucial to enhancing a country’s nuclear security regime,” WINS Programme Manager Raquel Delgado said.

We appreciate the opportunity to consider project achievements to date, lessons learned and the sustainability of our joint efforts beyond the project duration. We look forward to further fruitful collaboration!
