South African newspaper The New Age features the story of a WINS Academy graduate

“[The WINS Academy Nuclear Security Certification Programme for Scientists, Technicians and Engineers] provided me with unique perspectives on safety and security development best practices, such as integrating safety, security and policy topics into the physics, applied radiation science and nuclear engineering curriculum and the use of case studies to highlight the importance of nuclear security culture for technical experts. I must admit that I have gained a lot of new ideas and perspectives. […] I hope that experts from different countries and organisations will participate in these WINS Academy courses.”

Mr. Tebogo Kupi, a radiation protection officer at the North West University, is among the very first South African scientists to pass the WINS Academy certification programme in June 2015. His story is featured in the June 22, 2015, edition of the South African national daily newspaper The New Age, click here to read it.
