IAEA Seeking Unit Head of Transport Security

The IAEA’s Division of Nuclear Security is looking for a Unit Head of Transport Security, who would be responsible for the design and delivery of programme activities related to transport security in accordance with the Nuclear Security Plan. The Unit Head develops the programme of activities and works with a team of nuclear security officers to prioritise and implement these activities based on the programme and needs identified by States in Integrated Nuclear Security Support Plans.

The IAEA encourages applicants from women to apply for this and other positions. The IAEA offers an attractive remuneration package including a tax-free annual net base salary, with a variable post adjustment.

Qualifications for this position include the following:

  • An advanced university degree in engineering, science, security (including law enforcement or national security) or other closely related field. A first level university degree in engineering, science, security (including law enforcement or national security) or other closely related field; with additional four years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of the advanced degree.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience at a senior managerial and operational level in nuclear security activities in transport.
  • Experience in either the regulatory body or operator/carrier organisation involved in security of nuclear and other radioactive material in transport an advantage.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the challenges for the implementation of IAEA’s Nuclear Security Plan are highly desirable.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English essential. Knowledge of other official IAEA languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) an asset.
