Workshop on autonomous and remotely operated systems: Benefits and challenges to nuclear security

Background

#SecurityisSecret?

Does it sound familiar to you?

In times where nuclear energy is a serious contender to achieve net zero and combat climate change, accurate information about nuclear security to inform public debate and opinion is more important than ever.

Can you identify misinformation? How do you understand if a message is false? Where do you obtain your information? How do nuclear security experts and communication professionals support and assist each other to ensure that news is not fake news?

If this is of a concern to you- as a communications expert, industry specialist, government official, academic, member of a civil society organization or a social media influencer, then you should attend our International Workshop: Let’s Talk about Nuclear Security - Effective Communication Strategies for a Changing World.

Hear first-hand from communications experts, nuclear security experts and social media influencers on current challenges to effective communication – including the prevalence of miscommunication and fake news - as well as strategies to counter or prevent these.

Process

Our invited experts shared their strategies and best practices in this area including the use of innovative narratives and different forms of communication, including social media.

The workshop was moderated by Ms Bethany Bell, Foreign Correspondent for the BBC.

This online two-day workshop incorporated our gender equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility by design principles.
