WINS Assumes Leadership of WiN Security

WINS has assumed the leadership of the Women in Nuclear Security group of expertise under Women in Nuclear Global.

“WINS and WiN Security are natural partners committed to promoting and strengthening the participation of women in the nuclear security sector,” said WINS Executive Director Lars van Dassen. “Combining our experience and efforts, we will work to ensure women are encouraged and supported in nuclear security careers.”

Through WiN Security, WINS plans to implement a range of activities to bring together and empower women working across nuclear security disciplines including regional and global events, networking opportunities and professional development resources.

“This transition reflects the recognition of WINS’ technical leadership; consistent advocacy for gender equality in nuclear security; and proven capacity to deliver impactful, inclusive, and results-oriented programming at the global level,” said WINS Senior Project Manager Viviana Moreno.

Are you a woman working in nuclear security? Join WiN Security to connect and exchange with a global network of likeminded professionals.

This arrangement follows a memorandum of understanding signed between WINS and WiN Global last year to formalise their cooperation on promoting gender equality and the professional development of women in nuclear security.
